Speakers Information |
| |
| There are
basically a few types of speakers. |
| |
- Tweeters:
A speaker driver on the order of 1" diameter for reproducing the
highest sound frequencies. Tweeters require the least amount of
power. The tweeter is designed to reproduce only the high frequencies
such as 3500 Hz and above. A tweeter can be damaged when driven
by low frequencies so you should always use the proper crossover.
|
- MidRange:
A speaker driver 2-5" in diameter for reproducing the middle range
of sound frequencies. The range of frequencies that lie between
midbass and the high frequencies.
|
- Midbass:
The range of frequencies just above the subwoofer and just below
the midrange.
|
- Woofers:
A speaker driver 8-12" in diameter for reproducing low sound frequencies.
Woofers require the most amount of power.
