Crossovers are Crucial

Crossover keeps all your sound from coming into your speakers all combined. It sounds horrible when your subwoofer tries to do the job of your midranges and/or tweeters. Or when your midrange and/or tweeter tries to pump the low frequency of bass.

You can use a crossover to keep high frequencies away from your subwoofers; and low frequencies from your midrange and/or tweeter. Most amplifiers have built-in crossovers. You can also use a separate electronic crossover to direct each frequency bands to the assigned speakers.
